A Mini Lip uses 0.5ml (half a syringe) — perfect for subtle hydration, border definition, or first-timers who want to ease in. Less than most people expect. The lips are a sensitive area, but we use prescription-strength topical numbing cream for 20–30 minutes before any injection. Both Teosyal RHA also contain lidocaine in the formula, which provides additional comfort during treatment. Most clients describe it as a brief pinch or pressure — not pain. Your total appointment is 30–45 minutes — including consultation, numbing time, and the injection itself. The actual injection takes 10–15 minutes. Expect swelling for 2–5 days — it peaks around day 2 and gradually resolves. Some bruising is possible. The lips are very vascular, so swelling is normal and expected, not a sign anything went wrong. Ice frequently in the first 24 hours. Avoid alcohol, intense exercise, and heat for 24 hours. Final results are visible at the 2-week mark, when we bring you in for your complimentary follow-up.
For 3–5 days before your appointment: avoid blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, Advil), alcohol, fish oil, and vitamin E supplements — all of which increase bruising risk. Don’t schedule lip filler within 2 weeks of dental work or vaccinations. Tell your injector if you have a history of cold sores — lip injections can trigger a breakout and we can prescribe a preventive antiviral. Arrive with clean, makeup-free lips.
Most clients see results last 6–12 months, depending on how quickly your body metabolizes hyaluronic acid, your lifestyle, and how much product was placed. The good news: lip filler builds cumulatively. Hyaluronic acid doesn’t fully metabolize — subsequent treatments add to residual product, meaning your results often last longer with each visit and require less product over time.
You’ll see an immediate difference as soon as the filler is placed — but your lips will be swollen. Swelling makes results look more dramatic in the first few days than they will settle. Final results are at 2 weeks, once all swelling has resolved and the HA has fully integrated. This is why we include a 2-week follow-up: it’s the only accurate way to assess and refine the outcome.
